Distance: 55 miles
Cost: £175 - 2 people
In brief:
Bath – Box – Atworth – Melksham – Calne – Avebury – Chippenham – Corsham – Box – Bath
In detail:
Leaving Bath we ride over the toll bridge and pick up the old coach road (A4) to Box. As we climb along the winding roads to Melksham, we pass through Atworth and Shaw. Out of Melksham we ride on to Calne where we pick up the coach road again and head to Cherhill along a very scenic stretch of A4. This takes us over the Wiltshire Downs where you can see for miles over the sweeping Wiltshire plains. We pass the White Horse, cut into the chalk in 1780 – one of the oldest in the county. We then cruise into Avebury for a short photo stop.
When we leave Avebury we pass Silbury Hill – a 4700-year-old mysterious mound of soil estimated to have taken 15 years to build. We ride back the way we came over the beautiful Wiltshire Downs once again. At Calne we split off along some spectacular roads passing the market town of Chippenham and on to Corsham. We head down into Box with the magnificent view to Bath in the distance. From there we wind our way back to the toll bridge and home.

Bath – Bathampton – Box – Chippenham – Calne – Cherhill – Avebury – Marlborough – Devizes – Melksham – Atworth – Bath
In detail:
This is a fantastic ride taking in some of the best roads Wiltshire has to offer. The time will just fly by as you cruise the county on our awesome machine.
From Bath we will cruise through Bathampton, Box, Chippenham, Calne, Cherhill and into Avebury. The ancient stone circle draws people from all over the world. Built about 4700 years ago it will mystify and amaze you. After a stop and a look around we head off to the impressive market town of Marlborough. It boasts the widest high street in England and has connections with Merlin the magician. Although much older, its first written record was in 1067 thanks to William the Conqueror. It has many intriguing nooks and crannies to explore and you can get a delicious meal from numerous hostelries. After a short stay and some photos we cruise over the downs to Devizes, itself an interesting market town steeped in history. After a ride down Market Street we move on to Melksham, through Atworth and across Kingsdown, back to the toll bridge and home.
This ride, although longer than most on offer, is guaranteed to leave you wanting more and we will probably have to force you to get off the trike!
